Hard work in high school helped me to do well in the standardized test which helped me to get the opportunity to study my Bachelors in one of the best colleges. Always dreamed to study Masters in the US and become a researcher, but I had to take a job to support my family. My problem-solving skills and sincere work ethic helped me to get an H1B visa and land a job in the US.
I truly believe an MBA from a reputed university will equip me with the skillset to find the right solution to any kind of problem. My professional goal is to work as Management Consultant and utilize my problem-solving skills to find the right solutions every day.

Hi Ms. Ambitious Dreamer, Impressive rise indeed! This is Debbie Choy from mbaMission and GSB alum. I love that you pulled yourself up by the bootstraps through education and hard work. Kudos! I think your academic track record is solid – your outstanding GMAT score should offset your GPA. Your work track record also looks good, although I’m curious about your long tenure as Senior Consultant – if you can’t show promotions, can you show that you’re still taking on increasing responsibilities (eg. larger projects, managing junior staff, etc)? Or recognition / awards? AdCom wants to see that you’re a rising star and leader at work. Another area to demonstrate leadership abilities is through community work or extracurricular activities. I don’t see that part filled out, but it doesn’t mean you don’t have these activities. As you put together your app, be sure to include any community or volunteering activities that you have engaged in. AdCom likes to see demonstrated leadership within your community too. Finally, be sure to explain why you’re interested in pivoting your career. Why Management Consulting? This will help AdCom better understand your future goals and how an MBA will help you. Hi Ms. Ambitious Dreamer, Melisa here from Stratus Admissions. Such an inspiring story and a testament to your hard work. Wow on your stats – I am guessing you converted your GPA to a US scale, which you will not need to do for admissions teams. They know the Indian grading scale well. I like for you that you have both Indian and US based work experience and it would be interesting to know whether that has impacted your longevity in your senior consultant job title. All top programs are going to value how you have been involved in your community – that community could be outside your role at work or in NGO organizations. Your experience here is not clear based on the limited info …

All top programs are going to value how you have been involved in your community – that community could be outside your role at work or in NGO organizations. Your experience here is not clear based on the limited info in your profile. I would suggest you spend some more time digging into your goals. What do you want to do aspirationally and how will management consulting help you get there? What skills do you hope to gain through consulting? While an MBA can help you pivot into consulting, you need to come up with a personal and compelling story as to why consulting is the right path for you. I would also encourage you to expand your list past HBS/GSB. There are lots of great schools that can set you up for success in consulting – and we have seen increased competition this year, especially at top programs. Schools to consider: Darden, Yale, NYU. Best of luck!
