Hi Ms. Hotel Real Estate, Melisa here from Stratus Admissions. Sounds like you’ve got an interesting role and have been able to grow out of a financial role to wear many hats across your company. Your stats are strong and I like that you have a diversity of experience across construction management and luxury residence. I would imagine that you have seen a lot over the last year changing in the hospitality industry which would contribute to interesting classroom discussions. I would love to know more your post-MBA goals and encourage you to do some more introspection here. Both growing within the luxury space and real estate investment could make logical sense – but where do you want to be aspirationally and which of these …
Both growing within the luxury space and real estate investment could make logical sense – but where do you want to be aspirationally and which of these can get you there. On the surface, these 2 paths look quite different and it is up to you to convince admissions committees that you have an aspirational yet achievable goal post-MBA. If you are unclear about your goals it will be cause for concern. Two years goes very fast – and especially with Booth’s flexible curriculum, it is important to have a clear idea of what you need to gain to be successful post-MBA. This might also help identify other schools that can help you achieve these goals. If real estate is your path, then you should definitely look at Wharton, Haas, UCLA, USC, UNC. Take a look at the employment reports of different schools to know who is recruiting in each space. Reach out if I can answer any other questions. Best of luck!
Hi there! It looks like you have awesome experience & your GMAT & GPA are both good. Something that doesn’t come across in this profile, though, is why you need an MBA & why you need it now.
