Sandy’s Analysis: How to improve your chances between now and Jan. 2015? Get a sex change operation and get a job with a blue chip PE fund. Welcome to the Male/Mid-Market PE Deferral Land. Of 200 deferrals total, 40 could be guys just like you, and one woman, who also chimed in.

Indian males in general are an oversubscribed category fer sure, plus finance, a group with lots of high performing types–that 15-17 percent means 142 enrollments as per their website, and some 10-20 kids beyond that who are admits and did not matriculate at HBS.

That is a biggish number–not sure what is happening this year, total VC/PE applicant pool could be up (due to reviving macro economy three to five years ago, more hires, more kids in pipeline) or they may be waiting for R2 numbers and will deal with deferrals then (well, that is certainly true).
