MBA Handicapping: Groupon To HBS? This Guy Might Do It

Eric has some impressive stats: A 740 GMAT score along with a 3.9 grade point average from the University of Michigan where he majored in strategy and finance at the Ross School of Business.

After graduation, he landed a highly selective spot in a leadership development program at Dick’s Sporting Goods where he was promoted to a senior financial analyst. He now works with the same title for Groupon, the e-commerce marketplace based in Chicago.

Eric, now 24 and planning to apply in the 2019-2020 admissions cycle, wants an MBA to transition into a corporate strategy or strategic consulting job. His target programs: Harvard Business School, Kellogg, Chicago Booth, MIT Sloan, Wharton, and Duke.

In this Friday’s with Sandy episode, HBSGuru.com Founder Sandy Kreisberg assesses his odds of success at those top schools.
