Sandy’s Harvard Business School Interview Prep

With interview invites for round two applicants to Harvard Business School scheduled for this coming Wednesday, HBSGuru.com Founder Sandy Kreisberg is devoting this week’s Fridays With Sandy episode to prepping for those interview. Right off the bat, he shares a recent interview report from a round one client who detailed every single question asked by HBS admission officials — and some of them were pretty out of left field.

Sandy offers valuable and timely advice during a mock interview with Vinson, a 25-year-old professional in Indonesia who works for the second largest bank in the country. Vinson graduated from Bandung Institute of Technology with a 3.67 GPA in environmental engineering. After his graduation, he went straight to work in a rotational program at Bank Mandiri and has since gained a promotion to risk assessment. He scored a 720 on the GMAT and has applied to Harvard, Chicago Booth, London Business School, INSEAD, and CEIBS in Shanghai.

In this mock interview, Sandy brings Vinson through the paces of an HBS grilling with some of the most common questions asked by Harvard interviewers. With just about every answer, Sandy provides guidance and advice on how best to respond to both the easy and the tricky questions any candidate is likely to get at Harvard or any other top business school.
