Chinmaya has rolled up several impressive internships with PwC, the Ministry of Finance in India, and a forthcoming intern stint with American Express. And he also has a big fat GMAT score of 750.
But here’s the rub: He’s aiming high for a deferred admission at Harvard Business School, Wharton, Columbia, MIT, and Yale, and he has below average GPA that is the equivalent of a 3.1 from the Indian Institute of Technology at Roorkee where he will earn his undergraduate degree in electronics & communication engineering this year.

In this episode of Friday’s With Sandy, HBSGuru.com Founder Sandy Kreisberg and Poets&Quants Editor John A. Byrne assess his chances of an admit, given his low GPA at an IIT that is not in Madras or Bombay.
