Heidi was integral to my MBA application process, and I truly could not recommend her enough. When I first met with her, I was very lost on where to begin with my essays and she provided several exercises to get me going. From there, I was able to find a thread throughout my life/career that felt true to who I am and where I’m going. Without her, I am positive that I wouldn’t have come out with such a strong essay.
Heidi was also very helpful in preparing me for interviews by conducting a simulated mock interview where she asked some tough questions and gave honest, constructive feedback. I know I wouldn’t have been as well prepared without her.
Finally, she played a major role in my decision-making process. I was very torn between 2 schools, and she not only offered her own advice, but also sourced thoughts from her network to help bring in additional data points. I felt confident with my final decision thanks to Heidi, and I intend to stay in touch with her throughout business school and beyond.
I looked at 4 MBA admissions consulting firms and chose mbaMission for several reasons: I had a few friends who had used them (and all got into M7 schools), and because my initial conversation with Heidi was very positive.
Heidi has lots of admissions experience in general and with candidates with a similar profile to myself (having not come from a more traditional career path). Heidi was extremely responsive over email throughout the process, and I always felt supported and clear about my timeline. Even when my first few GMAT attempts did not go according to plan and we needed to change the timeline, she was able to draw up a new calendar and I did not feel rushed or behind the ball.
Heidi was instrumental in making me feel prepared through her essay edits (which she turned around very quickly), mock interviews, and general advice on school selection. While MBA admissions consulting firms are very expensive, I feel like I got a great value working with mbaMission and Heidi!
I decided to work with Heidi because I needed someone to work through my essays with me and help me to understand the best way to craft my story for business school. Heidi delivered on all of this and more by making the process enjoyable and helping me to think about what I wanted the schools to know about me. She was very good at asking questions to understand where I wanted to go and helping me to come up with concrete examples that would demonstrate my claims. She was also very accessible and always willing to help when I needed it. I would absolutely recommend that anyone applying to business school work with Heidi.
I was hesitant about investing in an MBA admissions consulting firm because of the price tag, and looking back I have no regrets in investing in the hourly services package with MBAmission. Every minute spent with Heidi was SO SO valuable – she helped me get into every school that I wanted to get into and clearly directed me/answered all of my questions. Whether it was my resume review, outlining my essays, or even random questions about my application goals. She understood how I wanted to spend my time and never wasted a minute working with me. I could not have done it without her!!!!
I had the opportunity to work with Krista throughout my long MBA application process, and I couldn’t have done it without Krista by my side at every step of the way.
Starting in the 2020-2021 cycle, I applied to several programs, and even though I received a generous scholarship from a program last year, I ended up postponing my MBA for another year given that I received a big work promotion and wanted to gain hands-on management experience. When I decided to reapply in 2021, Krista provided me with extra support at no additional charge. She was there for me when I needed a mock interview partner the second time around and was generous with her time. Her resourcefulness helped me to always put my best foot forward.
What I appreciated about Krista was her tireless dedication and communication style. She sets clear expectations upfront and is very responsive. If you put in the work, Krista will help get you into your dream school(s). For me, that was MIT Sloan. She truly goes above and beyond for her clients, and I highly recommend Krista to future MBA candidates looking for a partner throughout this process.
I worked with Heidi in preparing 4 round 1 applications for 2021/2022 admissions cycle (i.e., for spots in the class of 2024) and she was the most amazing resource as I completed my essays and prepared for my interviews. I could rely on her to provide helpful, constructive feedback without undermining my confidence and she was a stellar communicator — always being clear about when I would hear back from her and what to expect. I was on the fence about using an admissions coaching service and I am SO beyond glad that I did. Heidi was such a wonderful resource for me and I credit her with helping me to have such a successful application experience.
I enquired about mbaMission following a year of studying and 5 unsuccessful GMAT attempts. The pressure of getting a test score that I was comfortable with was all-consuming. I hadn’t even begun to think about the application process with round one deadlines only a few months away.
Working with Heidi immediately lifted the weight of the world off of my shoulders. With years of experience helping aspiring MBA students get admitted into the schools of their dreams, Heidi put together a comprehensive game plan to ensure that I met all of my deadlines. It felt like Heidi was truly invested in my success throughout the process, providing detailed feedback and guidance on every component of my application.
Heidi took a genuine interest in learning about my background and career aspirations, which proved to be invaluable in helping to craft my story. I learned a lot about myself throughout the admissions process and truly cannot thank Heidi enough for all of her guidance and support along the way. Heidi is the best of the best!!
Overall, I had an excellent experience with Devi and was accepted to a top-choice program! She was incredibly efficient, knowledgable, and pleasant to work with throughout the application and interview process. She really helped me reflect on my experiences and stories to draw out the most powerful anecdotes, and her approach was very pragmatic. I would strongly recommend her to anyone looking to work with a consultant.
I came into the application process pretty late in August and was all over the place till I found Nisha. She has a knack for picking out the important elements from your stories and ensuring that you put your best foot forward. I truly appreciated her patience given the short time we had for the deadlines and was highly impressed with her quick turnaround time. Additionally, her feedback on my mock interview was highly beneficial as I prepared for the real deal. If you are looking to ace the application process, look no further – Nisha is the one. Thank you for all your help, Nisha!
I decided to apply to B school just 1.5 months before R1 deadlines and Gavriella made the process seamless, taking out much of the stress I would’ve had without her! From setting a schedule for deliverables (making the whole process much more manageable), the in-depth brainstorming, to multiple revisions of my HBS and GSB essays, and brainstorming & editing for the short answer prompts as well, she showed her prowess as an advisor, writer/editor, and storyteller. She also knew many of the MBA programs so well and was able to help me curate my story to uniquely fit each one. She was invaluable in my preparation for my HBS interview, conducting a mock interview, giving me helpful feedback, and sharing other potential questions that could come up. She also courteously gave me feedback on a couple of schools’ essays that were not included in my package, which I am extremely grateful for!
Gavriella made me feel comfortable and confident in my experience and story, ultimately making the admissions process alone an enlightening journey. I’m happy to share that with her help, I was admitted to my dream school, HBS, and Wharton! I would highly recommend working with Gavriella, she was so easy to work with and provided quality feedback. I’m confident I put my best foot forward with my applications and I would not have been able to get them there without her!
I came to the application process very concerned. I am from an over-represented demographic, being a male Chinese engineer, and I was out of work.
Harold was not thrown by any of this. Right from our first conversation he was reassuring, and I felt completely supported and understood. He always listened, and he helped me think realistically about my goals, pushed me to consider schools that I had yet to consider, including some reach schools and more likely schools and he was always an encouraging voice. He was very thoughtful in his approach and his attention to detail was second to none. Throughout the process, his ability to break each step down into manageable and meaningful pieces helped bring me closer and closer to polished applications and helped assemble a storyboard true to myself, stories that I was able to paint with pride and confidence. In the end, I got into my three top schools including UNC, USC, and Cornell. I got $100,000+ at both UNC and USC and could not be more thrilled with the outcome. Teaming up with Harold for my applications was the best investment I ever made and is already changing my life. Use Harold, it could be life-changing for you as it was for me.
I’m so grateful that I chose to work with Devi for HBS interview prep. When I got my R2 interview invite, I knew that I wanted to do everything in my power for it to be successful. If I was denied or accepted, I would have done everything I could.
Without Devi, I easily could have driven myself crazy trying to come up with answers to questions that other students had reported in their interviews. The thing is – those questions were only applicable to those students since HBS is so individually catered. As a former HBS interviewer, Devi read my entire application and identified the points she would ask questions about so I could narrow down my preparation and really hone in on the stories that best exemplified my character. In only two sessions, Devi helped me tighten my answers, which in turn led me to answer more confidently.
My interview went swimmingly – it felt like a conversation! Devi had predicted nearly every question I was asked, and for those she did not, we had discussed stories and examples that fit into those neatly.
I’m 1000% glad I worked with Devi. With her help, I’m a stronger interviewer for future jobs and am getting to go to my dream MBA program. I would recommend her to my peers in a heartbeat.
As I learn more and more about the applicant pool of top MBA programs, I realize how many weak points I had in my application. No test score and a below-average GPA are two data points that come to mind. Further, I started the whole process around Thanksgiving (with only about a month and a half until Round 2 deadlines), so to say I felt the odds were stacked against me is putting it lightly. My cousin (a 2nd year at UNC Kenan Flagler) had hired Julie-Anne Heafey from mbaMission and strongly recommended I do the same.
From our first conversation, I could tell Julie-Anne was passionate about her work and truly cared about her clients’ aspirations/success. Also impressive was her strong professional background and depth of experience with MBA application processes. In my UVA Darden application, she was instrumental in helping me strengthen the weak areas of my application while finding ways to emphasize and highlight the strong areas. She challenged me to dig deep to generate essay ideas through our Brainstorming session (an area I was totally lost in). Once we agreed on essay topics, Julie-Anne’s critiquing of several drafts was critical in forcing me to think deeply about the messages I wanted to convey. I believe my powerful essays were the strong points of my applications, and a lot of that credit is owed to Julie-Anne. Additionally, Julie-Anne pointed out areas of the application that I would have totally overlooked (short answer questions & why Charlottesville). Although these are brief parts of the application, the admissions committee looks closely at them. Lastly, she helped me re-construct my Resume, something I would have never thought important without her valuable advice.
I will be attending Darden this fall and truly believe I wouldn’t be here without the help of Julie -Anne. I would highly recommend anyone applying to MBA programs to hire her!
For context, I signed up for the School Package (absolutely the best value, IMHO) for more than one school. I ended up with admissions to 3 of the “M7” schools with $$, including my top two choices, and I can confidently say that would not have happened without Jessica.
I truly had no idea where to start with my MBA application journey, and after dragging my feet for months and doing some research on GMAT club, I took a few free consultations with some of the top-rated consultancies on here.
Jessica was the third one I spoke with, and I immediately felt like I formed a connection with her. The other consultants I spoke with seemed to have a formulaic approach, caring only about numbers. Even during that short 30-minute intro call, Jessica was able to learn a lot about who I am as a person, what some of my goals and values are, and what our path forward would be together from there. I hung up the phone and emailed her almost instantly to sign up.
Jessica’s approach really helps you dig deeper into your own story, and allows you to focus on the content rather than grammar and syntax. She is able to help you write an extremely articulate and well-researched “why MBA, why now, why school XYZ” essay response, and then turn around and pour your heart into the paper for the more open-ended prompts.
Jessica is truly invested in your success and will answer any question you have or review/edit any piece of material at all hours of the day and night. I’m not sure how she manages it, but although I know she had dozens of clients this past cycle, I felt like I was the only one who had her attention.
I could literally go on for pages about Jessica’s professionalism, how much her services have changed my life, and just how wonderful of a person she is.
If you are thinking about working with her, I promise you, do not look back, sign up with her (the sooner the better, R1 comes quickly!), and rest assured that this will be one of the smartest and most rewarding investments you will ever make in yourself and your future.
Thank you, Jessica!!!!
Working with Gavriella was truly an incredibly smooth process! Not only did she support me through the entire process but also made me feel confident through every step of the application process. She was incredibly responsive and detailed with her feedback! She really takes the time to get to know you and ensures your application highlights all your core skills, personality traits, and accomplishments. I was on a crunch time when it came to applying but she supported me tirelessly and made my application a priority, making this process seamless! I do not believe I could have gotten into my dream school without her guidance, support, and expertise! An absolute pleasure working with her!
I worked with Krista Nannery at mbaMission and she was fantastic! She took the time to really understand who I was as a person, my history, my short term and long term goals and what I wanted to get out of an MBA program to best help me craft my stories, essays and overall application. There were very clear deadlines for everything and the turnaround time was always followed. I got very helpful and actionable feedback on every part of my application and I felt that we were connected throughout the entire process, from the initial conversation through when I was deciding between school acceptances. I was hoping to get into at least one school and ended up getting offers at 5/7 – which definitely would not have happened without Krista’s amazing expertise, past experience, overall guidance and wonderful support throughout the process. Overall, I highly recommend, Krista!
Devi was fantastic – I reached out to her with little time to spare (<1 month) until applications were due for my MPA/MPP submissions. Devi confirmed she could work with me on a flexible time schedule and she was super available to help me cram in everything we needed to get done, but without skipping any steps!! She made sure we did all the exploration, helped me solidify my main story and worked with me with a balance of caring, efficiency, and candidness to deliver my story and guide me through decision points (e.g., retaking GRE). She made sure we got everything in and felt good about it, and it worked – I got into my desired program at HKS 🙂
Working with Gavriella has been a pleasure. During my first session with Gavriella, I wasn’t very confident about applying to the top tier business schools. She provided me with a realistic evaluation of my candidacy and the much needed confidence boost to apply to the top tier business schools. Gavriella’s guidance, feedback and insights have been extremely valuable throughout my application process. She pushed me to give my best and build a strong application. Gavriella was very easy to work with; very responsive and always available to answer any questions. She demonstrated a strong understanding, expertise and judgment around the MBA application process. I feel that I wouldn’t have gotten into Columbia Business School without Gavriella’s guidance.
I remember telling Kate near the middle of my MBA application process that “I really don’t think I’m remarkable” only for Kate to respond quickly that “Everyone is remarkable in their own way!.” Kate never wavered in her support for me, even when I was feeling a bit burnt out from GMAT, work and essay writing. It was her affirming notes and willingness to help me at every step of the process that made all the difference for me.
Beyond her thoughtfulness, Kate made sure that I was on top of deadlines and that I was giving each part of my application enough time. She has an amazing ability to listen deeply to what made me tick, pull out my strengths and articulate my story in the best light. This was especially the case for my Yale Essay in which I had a hard time connecting all the pieces to my “commitment”. She helped provide suggestions and edits that made the final essay have such a punchy conclusion. I really loved it and I guess Yale did too 🙂
I cannot say enough how much I appreciate and love working with Kate. I won’t forget how calm she is, how organized she is (always on time with providing updates), and how she always knows what to say. I would not be in the position I am today without her. Trust all the 5 star reviews, Kate’s the best!
I first heard about Katy through one of my good friends who worked with her and got into HBS. Given the rave reviews that I read online and from my friend, I immediately contacted Katy to see if we can work together. After speaking to her, I found her approach to be candid and sincere, which I enjoyed. She detailed my strengths and weaknesses immediately and we started working on my weaknesses. I found her to be very dedicated and invested in my success. Since I am located in the Middle East, I was initially worried that the time difference might be an issue but that wasn’t the case at all! After receiving an interview invitation from LBS, we spent countless hours practicing for both the video questions as well as the actual interview. All in all, Katy was absolutely fantastic and I am very happy to have worked with her
There are truly no words to describe how wonderful it was to work with Krista. She took what was originally a stressful, daunting and complicated process and made it simple. Krista is organized, knowledgeable and strategic — she took time to learn exactly about ME, and then helped me craft a thorough application at each school that both stressed my strong-suits and the elements that each school cares about. She was also a pleasure to work with — she was enthusiastic, kind, and responsive. She goes above and beyond for each of her clients and is a true supporter of the people she works with. While some other consultants I interviewed started to pick apart the weak parts of my application, Krista was only constructive and strategic. In the end, I received an admission offer at my dream school. This is in large part due to Krista — she helped me show the AdCom the real me. She’s a wonderful partner and champion in this process — couldn’t recommend her more strongly to anyone going through this process.
Katy is someone whose judgment and advice I fully trust. Since we started working together, she made the effort to fully understand me as a person. I went into our first brainstorming session with a series of disjointed experiences and Katy helped me identify the best parts and form a cohesive narrative. As I started sharing essay drafts, her feedback reflected a deep and specific understanding of the schools I was applying to. At one point, she gave some blunt feedback that I felt was exactly what was needed.
The whole process can also at times be an emotional rollercoaster. She was there to support me every step of the way, including when she advised me to make the difficult, though ultimately right decision to postpone my application to round 2.
I was accepted to my top choices, including HBS and MIT. I honestly believe that I would not have had this outcome without her support. If you get the chance to work with her, it will be one of the best decisions you make!
At first, when I started applying to business school I thought I could do it on my own and I was thinking “how much can a consultant actually help…is it worth the price?” Well on my own I was denied to every school I applied to in R1. Then, I decided to do a free consultation with Gavriella and I knew she would be instrumental in my applications for R2 Man, was I right. In R2 I was accepted to all 7 of the schools I applied to and most with 50% scholarships. Not to mention being accepted at my dream school Ross. I chose to do the hourly services and I was not disappointed. I would turn in essays to her at 2 am and they were back to me by 6 am. She is an incredibly hard worker, empathetic, and cares for her clients. She is available day and night without question. Gavriella has a talent for helping to create your story in a way that makes you look like a rock star and helping to show you how you fit within each program. I promise you will not go wrong using Gavriella. It has been the best decision I have made in my professional career thus far. My expectations were blown away and if you choose Gavriella, you will be accepted to the school of your dreams.
I reached out to work with Katy Lewis over 12 months ago on my application to Harvard Kennedy School’s MPP. From our first conversation, I could tell that she was outstanding at what she does, and I’m glad to have had the opportunity to work with her.
Katy has an amazing ability to take the stress and second-guessing out of the application process. This really helped me to focus on thinking and writing rather than worrying. With 5 essays and 2 types of resumes, the HKS application is demanding. I really valued Katy’s ability to ensure that each section conveyed a distinctive feature of my candidacy. She helped me take a high-level view of my candidacy that was vital for my success.
Ultimately, I was admitted to the incoming MPP class at HKS with a merit scholarship. I could not have done this without Katy’s help, and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking to apply to their dream graduate program.
I spent a lot of time and effort researching admissions consultants and was lucky to find Kate before she was completely booked.
As someone with a busy schedule who struggles with procrastination, it was incredibly helpful to have Kate there to keep me on track and ensure that I put my best self forward. She helped me with dozens of revisions and always made herself available to talk through any of my questions, doubts, and concerns. With Kate’s help, I was able to clearly convey my story and future goals through compelling essays.
I worked with Kate on three of my five applications, which resulted in two acceptances (full-tuition merit scholarships to Yale SOM and Tuck) and one waitlist (Wharton). I leveraged what I learned from my experience with Kate to apply to Haas and Ross, which resulted in two additional acceptances with merit scholarships.
Kate was invaluable throughout the application process, and I don’t think I would have had the same outcomes without her.
Working with Debbie was very enriching since she always has the best way to convey the ideas of past experiences. You are often clear about what you want to share, but it becomes complicated if you do not find the right words; it is very easy to find the right words with Debbie. Also, the way of working is delightful; it is pleasant and sincere, which is very important for these processes.
My experience was extraordinary, and everything happened according to plan. I got admitted to one of my first options, and I also got a scholarship! So I’m very happy with the excellent results and our work together.
After working with Krista for six months, I can definitively say I would not have had nearly as strong an application without her. I was recommended to her by a friend who gave such a glowing review that I wasn’t sure it could possibly live up to the hype. It turns out the hype may not have been enough.
A few key highlights: I applied to a school that based on my GRE and GPA would have been a clear reach. With Krista’s help, I was able to create a great application, and even get an interview.
The second key was Krista’s suggestions for my video essay. My initial idea was lackluster, but Krista mentioned thinking more outside the box and using photography as a basis for the entire video. From there, it sparked a ton of ideas, and we were able to work through the writing to get it as crisp and sharp as possible. The video essay turned out to be so strong that it was the catalyst for my acceptance to both schools I ultimately considered.
Overall, it was an extremely positive experience. Krista genuinely cared about my success and would pick interesting insights, ask great questions and make connections about how to make an excellent application. She also set me up extremely well for interviews, and I could not have gotten into school without her help.
I was referred to Nisha by a friend who was successful in getting into an MBA program with Nisha’s help. Even though MBA consultant packages can be expensive, Nisha provided many benefits that easily made it worth the cost. Having her every step of the way, whether it was related to advice on the GMAT, essay brainstorming, or interview strategy, really made the application process that much smoother and less stressful. The guidance that Nisha offered was great and her feedback was helpful. Nisha was always very accessible and quick to respond. If she didn’t have an answer right then, she was very proactive to find an answer by asking her network at MBAmission. Overall, I was extremely pleased with Nisha and highly recommend her to anyone needing help with the MBA application process. I really enjoyed my time working with her and am very confident in her ability to deliver successful results.
Harshad is truly one of a kind. His abilities as an amazing MBA consultant start with the genuine care he has about your life, your career, and your pursuits in the short and long term. Through the questions and discussion Harshad and I had, I felt he truly understood my background, the academic, professional, and personal decisions I had made in my life, how important an MBA was to me, and how these all fit into the story of my life.
Because he took the time to truly understand who I am, Harshad helped me tell extremely compelling stories about my life and make them shine in my application in ways that I couldn’t have done on my own. From full-length essays to short answers, to the resume, to interviews, Harshad gave me a fantastic structure to approach the daunting task of an application. He helped me take the accomplishments, values, and stories from my life and use them to represent myself well to the admissions committee.
I was so impressed with Harshad’s ability to help make my essays concise yet powerful in delivery. Time and again through several revisions, Harshad found ways for me to hit my word count, organize ideas in ways that make sense, and convey the core of my message in response to the essay prompts. Harshad is an amazing essay writer and editor, the best I have ever met or worked with. I was similarly impressed with his communication and work style. Harshad’s reviews were not only thoughtful and thorough, but timely as well: I received prompt edits and comments on my essays, and they always contained extremely valuable guidance with no fluff.
It is because of Harshad’s mentorship through every step in the process, from school selection to requesting recommendations to writing essays to interviews, that I can proudly say I have gotten 110% out of my MBA application experience. That is exactly the feeling you want to come out of this process with.
And it is because of Harshad that I can proudly say I’ve been admitted to Kellogg!! Harshad has enabled me to achieve a long-standing career goal and dream of mine, as I know he has done for many before me and will undoubtedly do for many who come after. He has truly been a great friend through this process as well, and has been reassuring without sacrificing honesty and trustworthiness; this is an incredible skill and one that few have. If you are pursuing an MBA, you will truly make the most of your opportunity by working with Harshad. His services are worth every penny (and more)!
I am a URM applicant who wants to enhance my technical and soft skills in an MBA program, so I decided to hire my first admission consultant, Julie-Anne, with a start-to-finish school package. I had a feeling that I was in good hands when Julie-Anne kindly checked in with me multiple times before application season, even when I postponed my MBA application from round 1 to round 2 due to unforeseen circumstances.
While it is true that you will not know if you could have done it with or without a personal admission consultant, I know, undoubtedly, that Julie-Anne made me put my best foot forward, accompanied by essential resources. Outside of the essay revisions, Julie-Anne provided the following resources: brainstorming exercises, interview prep presentations, scholarship + fellowship opportunities, connection to career counseling, and mock interviews.
Regarding application essays, Julie-Anne and I met via zoom and phone calls to lay out a plan to tackle essay season (please give yourself time by starting earlier than later). We, the clients, ultimately get to choose what ends up on the application, but I wholeheartedly appreciated Julie-Anne for challenging me on all of my essays. Her thorough feedback and questions, which are always organized and well-documented, are supposed to invoke introspection. Julie-Anne constructive feedback pushed my limits to write more meaningful essays because she read my essays through an admission lens. She meticulously reviewed all of my essays.
The results? I received a full fellowship ($$$$+$) to the perfect, top MBA program that fits my needs and goals. I have zero regrets about hiring Julie-Anne. She is a true professional who will bring the best out of you.
I had the pleasure of working with Kate on strategizing for my applications to a number of top-rated Executive MBA programs. Kate provided great advice and coaching throughout the process and was a much-needed voice of reason when determining which programs to target for my applications. Kate was always pragmatic, thoughtful, and caring in the advice that she gave – and encouraged me to apply to my stretch school – a top 3 business school – that I ended up getting accepted. If it weren’t for Kate’s encouragement and guidance, I’m not sure how the process would have turned out. I would highly recommend Kate to my friends, family, and anyone else who will listen. Thank you, Kate!
Gavriella was a fantastic consultant throughout the entire MBA application process. I could not recommend her more! From the initial consultation meeting, Gavriella soothed my nerves. She quickly provided a clear and thorough plan of how I would work through my apps. We worked very closely from then on, and I appreciate how she went above and beyond to provide quick turns of my essays and make herself available, even on weekends on a few occasions. She provided detailed and very additive edits (grammatically, structurally, and most importantly creatively). The highlight of working with Gavriella was truly the brainstorming / “crafting my story” process – crucial to my application and the pain point of the process for me. She really took the time to understand my journey to date, asking thoughtful questions to identify unique stories, and brainstorming interesting ways to tell my story. Furthermore, she gave me a needed confidence boost to see that my story is unique, and was always honest and frank. At the end of the day, I got into 3 out of the 5 schools (including two M7 schools) I applied to and waitlisted at another M7. Gavriella was instrumental in that result, and I cannot thank her enough!
I am an Indian male with a management consulting background. I have limited extracurriculars. My biggest challenge was standing out among the extremely competitive Indian consulting cohort.
1) Julie-Anne is super clear and frank. She encouraged me to apply to a mix of dream, reach & target schools given the competitiveness of the cohort. This turned out to be a solid bet as I got 2 amazing admits & 2 waitlists out of 9 applied schools!
2) Julie-Anne brainstormed with me to understand my entire life journey and interests. She understood me as a person which helped bring out stories from my backpacking experiences, specific assignments as a consultant, my passion for music that truly brought out me and helped me stand out in my application
3) She was extremely invested throughout the process. She created resources for resume creation, form filling, interview prep, attending events, networking in schools, etc., which made the whole process simple. Her nudges on networking in schools ensured I was well bonded and had a nuanced understanding of how the schools fit with my journey and vice versa. This along with her amazing interview prep guide + mock interview ensured I had amazingly smooth interviews (despite getting a hostile interviewer in some cases). Even on my resume, her nudges made my resume stand out (an adcom at a school I was admitted to highlighted how my profile stood out due to that, and I give full credit to Julie-Anne for it).
4) Julie-Anne is not just a consultant, she is available even when you’re panicking or worried. E.g. In my 4th/5th application, I was starting to lose hope and steam. This started to reflect in my output. She had an honest chat with me about how I was feeling. This nudged me to keep pushing and write authentic + specific stories for all!
5) She has a high bar on each doc. On some schools, she continued to push even though through several iterations to get a clear goal story, why the school, specific experiences/reflections from me. I credit both my admits to this, my applications wouldn’t have been half as good without her push!
6) She has amazing clarity on the culture, approach, and things to look out for in each school. This combined with how well she understands your story results in amazing brainstorming sessions where you know what you should speak about in the application!
I would urge you to work with her with your eyes closed. By far the best admissions consultant you can work with!
My background is fairly “vanilla” for a finance candidate – 2 years IB BB, 2 years private equity, econ grad. Given how difficult it is to stand out in the finance crowd, I knew that good essays were key to getting into my top choice schools.
Julie-Anne was 100% essential in helping me craft my stories and dig deep into who I am and what I want out of my career. What I appreciated was her honesty – whenever something worked, she pushed me to dig a level deeper, and whenever it didn’t, she told me upfront that the story would not work. I ended up scrapping several ideas I started with, which looking back was absolutely the right move. Furthermore, she showed a level of detail and care in every piece of my application that surprised me – for example, having gone through banking and private equity recruiting, I’d thought my resume was polished and good to go, yet Julie-Anne pointed out several spots I could improve my phrasing and highlight my leadership and responsibilities. My resulting resume was at least 2x stronger.
I applied in R1 and was initially waitlisted at Stanford; I knew the chances of getting off the GSB waitlist were very low, but wanted to give it my best shot. Julie-Anne was extremely supportive in helping me draft my waitlist updates and offering career advice throughout. I ended up getting into GSB in R2 and was also accepted to Wharton with $$.
I highly recommend Julie-Anne to every applicant – not only is she a fantastic consultant, but she is also the most wonderful mentor and cheerleader throughout the process. I could not have asked for a better experience; I owe getting into my dream school to her!
After interviewing countless MBA consultants, I knew Rachel was the right fit immediately. Thankfully, my gut was correct as she ensured I got into my dream Business school – Wharton.
Being an untraditional candidate, I was desperately seeking help on how to craft my background into an appealing story for admissions. Through my brainstorming document, Rachel expertly wove together my experiences into an attractive business school package — extricating finance, marketing, and leadership skills I could not have recognized myself.
Rachel’s background as an MBA herself, an alumni admissions interviewer, and a journalist is the triple threat that makes her the best MBA consultant. She requires hard work from her clients and pushes them to the next level by offering unhindered, sometimes tough to hear, feedback. During my time working with her, I could sense her complete passion for my process which served as my guiding light.
It was a pleasure working with Rachel and I couldn’t recommend her services more highly.
Working with Devi to prepare for my HBS interview was the best decision I’ve ever made. My experience was invaluable, and I can confidently say that I could not have done it without Devi’s advice and training. If HBS is your dream school, I would highly recommend working with Devi.
She’s incredibly experienced and knew how to bring the best out of me. Her feedback was very candid and pragmatic. She helped me reflect on my stories and experiences and guided me towards ways that I used to tweak my answers and bring out the personal element in each of them. Devi helped me become a better storyteller and a more engaging interviewee in only 2 sessions. She’s magic!
It was very clear for me that Devi spent ample time reading and studying my application. She knew it inside out and also understood my industry quite well. Her effort showed in the follow-up questions she asked me during our sessions. Devi’s questions prompted me to focus on areas that I had initially overlooked and helped me better prepare my answers and stories.
Also, she helped me highlight the main catchy areas in my story and guided me on how to give more crisp and succinct answers without losing the engaging element in them.
It’s also worth mentioning that Devi is incredibly nice, caring, and supportive. When she gave me advice, she did it in a very constructive manner that left me energized to improve rather than feel demoralized. She encouraged me to get better and led me there. I absolutely loved working with Devi and I loved her style.
Working with Devi has been an absolute pleasure and I would definitely recommend working with her to prepare for HBS interviews. She can definitely help you get there!!
I found Rachel through a friend of mine that used her services in the past. I had heard such great things so I decided to meet with her and I felt that she would be able to help me reach my goal of getting into business school. I was right; Rachel helped me get into 3 out of the 4 schools I applied to, including my dream school!
I was terrified to start the application process but Rachel made it so much easier and helped make sure I made the deadlines. I was really struggling with the GMAT and her suggestion to take the Executive Assessment was a real game-changer. She also really took the time to get to know me and help me craft a compelling story for my applications. It was great to know that I could reach out to Rachel with any questions or concerns I had during this stressful time and she was always quick to answer and put my worries at ease. The mock interviews we did were so helpful and made me feel prepared going into my actual interviews.
When I told Rachel about my acceptances, she was as excited as I was! She is so knowledgeable about the admissions process and is such a genuine person. I am so grateful for her help and I would recommend her to anyone looking to apply to an MBA program!
And I am glad I did. I literally had 2 weeks for Wharton and 4 weeks for Berkeley. I called Devi. She said – If you are ready to hustle, I am too. And so, we did. We spent the next couple of weeks on the application, formatting the resume, revising the essays, and were able to make it in time. Devi is to the point. If she felt the application wasn’t good enough to be submitted, she would have said so. She made me think and reflect on critical aspects of my life. She urged me to write from the heart and be honest. I got into Berkeley, and I am so excited about it. I wouldn’t have done it without Devi.
Applying while on active duty, Julie-Anne was essential in my application process by helping me articulate my military experience into thoughtful and effective essays. I valued her direct feedback, something friends and family often didn’t give when I asked for their help and her dedication to helping me create the best applications possible. I never felt like a client working with Julie-Anne, but instead more like a student because of how much she cared about me and my application and how willing she was to help around the clock for months. From her school background, work experience, and knowledge of the MBA admissions process, Julie-Anne is truly a professional and master at what she does. I am 100% confident I wouldn’t have been accepted into my top choice M7 school without Julie-Anne and would recommend her to anyone serious about enrolling in an MBA program.
From my initial free consultant with Harshad, I knew I had found the consultant I wanted to work on. As a prospective dual degree student, I was looking for a consultant who would be able to help me navigate through the application process for both programs, and went through many initial consultants with various MBA consulting companies. Harshad was realistic with my strengths/weaknesses and school choices, and encouraged me to look at potential programs I had not even considered. It was very clear to me that Harshad was the consultant I was looking for – somebody with emotional intelligence, honesty, and an ability to see one’s story from just a 15-minute chat. Using the hourly plan, I was afraid that I would not be able to receive the same support that one would get with the comprehensive school package – but I was quite mistaken. Harshad was quick on feedback, direct, and constructive – always happy to hop on a call if need be. He helped me completely revamp essays, knowing exactly what the admissions committee is looking for in terms of content and structure and helping me refocus my story/goals. Harshad was also able to shed light on the differences at various schools, and what each school is looking for in their incoming class. Harshad was extremely timely and considerate of the fact I was on the hourly plan – never going over and keeping his reviews/work with me succinct yet extremely helpful. Even after my hourly plan ended, I continued to receive check-ins from Harshad where he would provide me advice on the schools I had been waitlisted at. Harshad truly cares about you as a client, and most importantly, as a person – he will do his best to make sure you succeed and obtain the results you want.
As a South Asian woman with below-average standardized test scores and years of work experience, I knew that achieving my dream of attending a top MBA program would be an uphill battle – that’s where Harshad came in. Harshad helped me navigate the extremely daunting task of applying to top MBA programs and was there to support me every single step of the way.
Harshad is extremely organized, highly knowledgeable and tremendously structured in his approach with all his clients. In addition to being a fantastic editor, Harshad has a deep understanding of what admissions committees look for and helped me craft a very compelling story that highlighted my strengths and mitigated my weaknesses. I genuinely appreciated his direct feedback on my essays and at times when the entire process felt overwhelming and emotional, Harshad was always there to support me and lift me back up again. Towards the end of the application process, I came to see Harshad not just as my MBA consultant, but also as a mentor and a friend.
Harshad truly changed my life by helping me and my twin sister get into our dream school, Wharton. I highly recommend anyone looking for a consultant especially those from South Asian backgrounds to choose Harshad – it is a decision you will not regret!
Used a package service with Krista and got in nearly EVERYWHERE, including Stanford GSB, Wharton, and Columbia. She knew the ins and outs of every school and their applications, made the process as stress-free and fun as possible (grueling as it was), and the worry I’d previously had that I was missing something, somewhere, went away because I was confident Krista knew everything. She was also fun, kind, generous, energetic, and I felt like she was really rooting for me throughout. I LOVED WORKING WITH KRISTA and saw her as a trusted friend/advisor throughout. She also helped me apply to CBS on a tight time crunch, sending masterful thoughts my way and steering my app towards success with only days and hours to spare. I couldn’t recommend her more highly! She is the Michael Jordan of MBA consulting.
I approached Katharine over a year ago regarding my rather nontraditional background and application. I was instantly impressed by her knowledge of all the top programs and her proposed strategy for my application. Katharine encouraged me to apply to the top programs, Harvard and Stanford and laid out a timeline for us to work together. After considering my options, I decided that Katharine would be the best fit to advise me on my application, and I am so glad I did. Katharine was an admissions officer at Stanford, (my target school) and has a thorough understanding of how Stanford evaluates/reviews applications. She helped me think through every detail of my application — personal narrative, extracurriculars, etc. — and she kept me on track for the deadlines. Katharine is an expert when it comes to the details; I am certain that her thoughtful approach was the tipping point for my application, and the result was exactly what I hoped for — I was accepted to Stanford GSB! Thank you Katharine for all the time and effort you put forth working with me. I would highly recommend that anyone work with Katharine to achieve their MBA goals!
Having Harshad on my side during the application process was key – I don’t think I would’ve received an admit into my top school without his guidance.
While his perspectives on crafting my resume and identifying schools were very helpful, his expertise really shone in selecting and crafting the stories that were highlighted in the essays. His ideation process is very methodical and it was where he helped me identify which stories to best convey my story.
His tremendous knowledge of each school’s qualities and what they’re looking for was astounding. There were so many occasions when after I thought an essay was finished, Harshad would review and push me to submit the best possible version of myself. His turnaround time and review quality are excellent and even when I delayed on my end, he ensured we stayed on track through the entire process.
Overall, I would definitely recommend anyone to work with Harshad to sharpen their stories and submit the best possible application!
Devi’s years as an admissions officer at HBS were incredibly valuable for me in navigating the uniquely structured HBS interview. Devi’s mock interviews were so close to the real deal, and her feedback for areas for improvement was essential in showing up prepared for my real interview.
If you have an HBS interview coming up, don’t hesitate to work with Devi! She’ll help you surface the most important parts of the application that the Admissions Boards want to hear as well as craft a cohesive story that flows through your interview.
I don’t think I would’ve gotten an admit to the HBS class without her help.
I had a wonderful experience working with Jen at mbaMission in my application process to graduate school. Not only was I successful in my dream of being successfully admitted, but the mbaMission process, specifically with Jen, was completely transformative for me. It allowed me to turn what could have been a somewhat chore-ish task of applying to grad school into an exercise of reflecting on my adolescence and created a safe space for me to put pen to paper about my wildest dreams and goals for my future. In many ways, it felt like therapy or professional coaching, in the Trojan horse of admissions support 🙂 Beyond being profoundly astute and thoughtful as I crafted my story, Jen was extremely diligent and went above and beyond to keep me on track so I never felt pinched or pressed for time. We ping-ponged more drafts of essays than I can count, and she did all of this with a deep thoughtfulness about not only staying true to me and my story but also crafting hitting all the important points that her years in admissions counseling have taught her matter. I cannot speak more highly of Jen and my overall experience with mbaMission. I am forever indebted to Jen for not only making my dream come true, but for doing so with unique integrity that is not always present in this process.
Rachel was the best consultant I could have ever asked for and could not recommend her more to anyone who is looking to get into their top choice MBA programs.
Rachel and I hit it off right from the first consultation meeting. I had been on a few other initial meetings before with other consultants, but I immediately clicked with her and could feel that she was going to be by my side the whole time. She was upfront with me about her working style and told me that I needed to be organized and dedicated to working hard if I was going to achieve my goal. Even during the first free consultation, she was already giving me tips on how to improve my resume and gave me examples of different opportunities to help round out my resume.
Once we got kicked off the brainstorming, she was always extremely prepared, compassionate and her dedication to her applicants was evident. Despite both of us having wildly different backgrounds, she read my brainstorming document many times and was able to put herself in my shoes, coming up with multiple unique ways I could tackle the essays. Her background in journalism really shined as she helped me identify strong connections between my early years all the way to my current job into my future career goals.
I went through many drafts along the way and Rachel was always willing to entertain my ideas but always made sure it fit my broader application. I loved how upfront she was with me about parts of my essays that didn’t work, tough reality checks that I certainly needed at times. She was also very timely with her responses and I don’t remember a single time that she didn’t reply within the stated timeframe and more often than not, it was a much quicker timeframe.
At the end of the day, I got into 2 of the 3 schools that I applied to (Wharton and Columbia), both schools that were likely reaches for me had I not sought Rachel’s help.
I couldn’t recommend Rachel more and am so glad that we got to work together. If you are serious about your MBA candidacy, you cannot go wrong by having her on your side.
Debbie was very helpful for GMAT prep, overall application strategy, and navigating the interview process. She was a great help to me in arranging my thoughts and experiences into viable admissions essays. She provided overall strategy, specific insights into top schools, and targeted feedback for all stages of the application.
Debbie helped me apply for a few MBA programs. It was a truly amazing experience working with her and eventually I got the admission offer from Stanford GSB, my dream one and simply the top on my wish list. It wouldn’t have been possible without Debbie’s help.
Debbie was a good listener and she quickly got to know me as a person during the brainstorming session. She never made stories for me, but conversations with her were inspiring and they did help me find myself, and excellent essay writing was naturally a result of it. Application was a long, and sometimes, easy-to-lost process. Debbie was not only inspiring but strategic. Her suggestions on time arrangements, test preparations, key points in writings, etc., were practically useful. Her mental support also helped me go through this challenging period.
It wasn’t purely the good result that led me to leave this review, but it is really about her professionalism and inspirations during the process which I truly respect and highly recommend.
Devi was great to work with and a major help in preparing my business school applications! She really helped me prepare all parts of my application from my resume to my essays to interview preparation. I appreciated how straight forward and frank she was because I knew I was always getting an honest and well-qualified opinion. Would definitely recommend!
