After working with Krista for six months, I can definitively say I would not have had nearly as strong an application without her. I was referred to Nisha by a friend who was successful in getting into an MBA program with Nisha’s help. I am a URM applicant who wants to enhance my technical and soft skills in an MBA program, so I decided to hire my first admission consultant, Julie-Anne, with a start-to-finish school package. I had a feeling that I was in good hands when Julie-Anne kindly checked in with me multiple times before application season, even when I postponed my MBA application from round 1 to round 2 due to unforeseen circumstances.

While it is true that you will not know if you could have done it with or without a personal admission consultant, I know, undoubtedly, that Julie-Anne made me put my best foot forward, accompanied by essential resources. I am an Indian male with a management consulting background. I have limited extracurriculars. My biggest challenge was standing out among the extremely competitive Indian consulting cohort.

Even on my resume, her nudges made my resume stand out (an adcom at a school I was admitted to highlighted how my profile stood out due to that, and I give full credit to Julie-Anne for it).

4) Julie-Anne is not just a consultant, she is available even when you’re panicking or worried. E.g. In my 4th/5th application, I was starting to lose hope and steam. This started to reflect in my output. She had an honest chat with me about how I was feeling. This nudged me to keep pushing and write authentic + specific stories for all!

5) She has a high bar on each doc. On some schools, she continued to push even though through several iterations to get a clear goal story, why the school, specific experiences/reflections from me. I credit both my admits to this, my applications wouldn’t have been half as good without her push!

6) She has amazing clarity on the culture, approach, and things to look out for in each school. This combined with how well she understands your story results in amazing brainstorming sessions where you know what you should speak about in the application!

I would urge you to work with her with your eyes closed. By far the best admissions consultant you can work with!

My background is fairly “vanilla” for a finance candidate – 2 years IB BB, 2 years private equity, econ grad. Given how difficult it is to stand out in the finance crowd, I knew that good essays were key to getting into my top choice schools.

Julie-Anne was 100% essential in helping me craft my stories and dig deep into who I am and what I want out of my career. What I appreciated was her honesty – whenever something worked, she pushed me to dig a level deeper, and whenever it didn’t, she told me upfront that the story would not work. I ended up scrapping several ideas I started with, which looking back was absolutely the right move. Furthermore, she showed a level of detail and care in every piece of my application that surprised me – for example, having gone through banking and private equity recruiting, I’d thought my resume was polished and good to go, yet Julie-Anne pointed out several spots I could improve my phrasing and highlight my leadership and responsibilities. My resulting resume was at least 2x stronger.

I applied in R1 and was initially waitlisted at Stanford; I knew the chances of getting off the GSB waitlist were very low, but wanted to give it my best shot. It wasn’t purely the good result that led me to leave this review, but it is really about her professionalism and inspirations during the process which I truly respect and highly recommend.

Devi was great to work with and a major help in preparing my business school applications! She really helped me prepare all parts of my application from my resume to my essays to interview preparation. I appreciated how straight forward and frank she was because I knew I was always getting an honest and well-qualified opinion. Would definitely recommend!

I chose the two-school start-to-finish package with Devi after completing initial consultations with a half dozen top-rated consultants. Even though she had fewer start-to-finish reviews than some of the other consultants I spoke with, I could sense that Devi was particularly sharp and savvy. But I ultimately chose her because she best understood my career in the financial industry, my goals, and my aggressive school selection strategy.

Even before getting admitted to the GSB class of 2024, I was able to say with confidence that I made the right decision.

A few aspects of my experience with Devi stand out:

1. She never wasted my time. She’s extremely concise with her comments and conversations and doesn’t add fluff. Her value comes from decisive and efficient commentary, rather than endless facetime. As a busy professional, this was a highlight for me.
2. I was at a complete loss for how to approach the Stanford essays when we first spoke. The brainstorming docs we worked on helped her suggest a theme that I ran with. We crafted a very unique essay that I think helped me stand out from the pack.
3. Again using the brainstorming document, she was able to pull out quite a few interesting anecdotes and experiences that were helpful for short answer and supplementary essay questions.
4. Devi was excellent and prompt with editing and resume review, especially during the final application push.
5. Unsurprisingly given her background, Devi was very helpful with mock interview prep. Her deep familiarity with my story also naturally made the sessions much more productive than other mock interviews I completed.

My time with Devi was an expensive investment, but one that was well worth it in hindsight.

It’s hard to imagine how I would have navigated my business school application journey without a coach and true supporter like Katy Lewis. I actually started a little late (in November) for Round 2 deadlines but Harshad was more than up for the challenge. He set expectations upfront – we knew going in this is going to be an uphill battle.

From the onset, it was clear that Harshad was highly organized and methodical in his approach. Harshad is definitely not someone who will beat around the bush and/or sugarcoat. He is direct but thoughtful which is the exact duo you will need while going through this process, especially when you get to a point where every day matters. I did this application process while working full time which definitely made my availability difficult but Harshad was very flexible and available for late nights and weekends, whenever I needed him! He is unparalleled with his turnaround time which definitely surpassed my expectations.

Part of the challenge of building out your application is not just having a good story but showing the story rather than telling the story. This is where I found Harshad to be a differentiator – he takes the time to get to know you, your interests, your passions, and who you are as a person and makes sure to reflect that in his process to help build out your application. He will steer you away when you think certain information is valuable to have but is really just fluff (which was extremely useful when trying to meet those pesky word counts!) and push you to write more impact even when you think there isn’t anything left. During the mock interviews, he falls into school-specific persons that allow you to really practice through different styles of interviews.

Overall, Harshad genuinely wants you to succeed and will do his best to get you to the best place you can be. I recommended Harshad without reservation and to the fullest extent!

Harshad was instrumental to my success. I worked with him through mbaMission’s 3 school package. Not fitting the typical mold, I was very apprehensive about how to portray myself appropriately to the admissions committees. Harshad was recommended to me because he had the “heart of a storyteller”. Harshad was very helpful through my MBA application process. As a chemist with 8 years of work experience, Harshad used his own engineering background to position my story for success in the business world. I could not have gotten into my target school (Wharton) without Harold. From our first conversation about whether an MBA made sense for someone like me (a lawyer looking for a career pivot), to choosing between the GMAT and GRE, to multiple rounds of essay review and interview prep, Harold was insightful, responsive, and amazingly supportive. My background is non-traditional for an MBA applicant, and I definitely could not have put together as compelling a story as I did without Harold’s coaching, which was incredibly detailed and school-specific. Not only did Krista support me in terms of her professional expertise, which is one of the most refined, but she also supported me emotionally. I did an extensive amount of research on MBA consultants and chose Katy Lewis for her fabulous reviews and expertise with top schools (Harvard / Stanford) and applicants with “traditional” consulting / finance backgrounds like myself. In all aspects of the process, I was extremely impressed by her – she was incredibly helpful in the brainstorming / narrative formulation component and was also invaluable in providing feedback on essays. After receiving interviews at Harvard and Wharton, I did multiple mock interviews with Katy and found them to be extremely representative of the real interviews. I applied in Round 2 in fall 2022 for the Class of 2024 and bought MBA MIssion’s 5-school package. I was admitted into my top choice school, Wharton and accepted their offer of attendance.

I did my free consulting session with Debbie Choy, and knew immediately that she would be a great fit as my consultant. I told her on the spot that I wanted to sign up with her. However, at the time, I hadn’t taken my GMAT yet. Debbie encouraged me to wait until I took the GMAT before paying for the consulting package because it is non-refundable. Debbie even offered to hold my spot with her until after I took the GMAT. That action showed me that Debbie (and MBA Mission) really care about what is best for me, and not just collecting my money. I ended up signing up immediately anyways because I was tight on time before deadlines, but that action was very meaningful to me.

Debbie really took the time to understand who I was and what makes me a strong candidate. Many times throughout the process, I asked her if specific topics would be suitable for essays or short answers. My concern was, maybe these topics were too common or “not what the school is looking for”. Debbie always encouraged me to be myself while giving me tips on what parts of my story I could highlight to strengthen my application (but still being authentic)!

With her many years of experience, Debbie is a fantastic and knowledgeable consultant. I highly recommend her!

Without hesitation, I can say that Devi helped me put forward my best self in the best light on all my applications. This was more than just helping me format or write the best essays. The most valuable part of my time with Devi was either in our calls or the homework she would give me which really made me introspect. Devi gave me the confidence to write about some of the stories in my life that I may not even have thought to do so without her pulling them out of me.

I had researched nearly all the consulting service providers online and shortlisted three of them. After the in-depth calls with each, I chose Debbie to be my consultant and signed a 5-school package with her.

She is very responsive, super knowledgeable, and has guided me through every step of the application process. In the beginning, I had not decided which schools to apply to, so we began by discussing the school selections. Debbie understood my background and my desired career path so well, and thanks to that, I was admitted to a B-school (and it’s an M7!) that she recommended but I did not plan to apply to in the first place.

Not only the fact that I was admitted with a scholarship, but also after my interactions with the alumni and current students, I found that I loved this school the most, and it actually fit me the best (the culture, my career goal, and strengths, etc.)

I come from an overrepresented population and was accepted by top 10 programs (US News ranking). Katy was a great help in my application process. My job has the nature of being very technical. Katy spent time knowing what I do. She helped me find the best version of myself where I can pull myself out from the details of my work and figure out on a high level what I want to achieve. I scored a 640 on my GMAT (45 quant/34 verbal) which is not great, did not get amazing grades in college, and somehow Michael was able to help show the admissions committee how valuable of a candidate I was.
