When I first received an invitation to interview at HBS, GSB, and Wharton, I was overjoyed, but also overwhelmed. I had no idea where to begin and no idea how to prepare. I spent days trying to find the right consultant and ultimately chose Devi because of her amazing reviews and online content (I highly recommend watching her YouTube videos discussing interview prep). I did the intensive interview prep with Devi – I cannot stress enough how essential this prep was for me, not only for my HBS interview but also for my GSB interview. Devi gave me insight into what the interviewers are looking for, she gave me a structure for prepping in between sessions, and she instilled in me confidence in my responses. Her feedback on everything was direct and actionable. Most importantly, she gave me a blueprint to position any response regardless of whether I had encountered that question before or not—often interviewers ask questions for which you hadn’t directly prepared. I cannot stress enough how helpful Devi was for my process. I absolutely recommend Devi to other applicants going through this process.
Coming from a non-traditional background, I knew I needed the help of an MBA consultant. I couldn’t be happier that I chose mbaMission and was paired with Harold Simansky. When I began the process, I didn’t really know what my story for my essays would be or even what industry I should target. Harold was extremely helpful in helping me craft a great story and also providing me with the resources to find a good post-MBA industry/job given my background. The resources and guides offered by mbaMission are extremely informative and played a crucial part in my MBA application process.
But the school package was well worth the price as Harold was always available to chat anytime I had doubts or needed his advice. On top of that, he helped me with every single part of my application (from resume to essays to approach with letter of rec writers and finally on interviews) and was always timely with edits/suggestions/feedback. Harold also was always empathetic and understanding throughout the application process. I always felt I had someone in my corner, even during the most difficult parts of the process. Harold exceeded my expectations every step of the way. I owe lots of my success in gaining admittance and full rides to 3 top schools to the excellent service provided by Harold and mbaMission.
To wrap up, I’m now getting to attend my dream school Haas and couldn’t be happier with the outcomes of the process! I highly recommend Harold and mbaMission to anybody who is looking to gain admittance to a top-tier MBA program!
Katharine did a great job helping me formulate a story throughout the process. She quickly absorbed the salient details of who I was as a person and then synthesized them into a few key themes that we then communicated to the admissions committee. Katy is warm, open, and thoughtful, with an eye for figuring out how to best convey who you are in an authentic way. She is very encouraging, but she is quite busy and so it can be hard to get on her schedule as much as you might like. Overall, she probably spent ~30 hours on my application, which equates to $350/hour. In the end, though, she was able to help me achieve my get into a top program and that’s all that matters.
Choosing to work with Harshad was one of my best decisions yet. I dreamt of attending an M7, specifically Sloan, but felt it was a far-fetched dream. From day one Harshad took incredible care in getting to know me as a professional and a person, and in doing so helped me understand where my true strengths and uniqueness lay. Such newfound knowledge was essential in creating noteworthy essays for the admissions committees, and eventually in presenting the best version of myself to my interviewers. I was impressed with the level of care he dedicated to my applications as he updated me on new research and ideas he thought of to improve my chances of getting interviewed. Other than being an incredible source of knowledge, he was also my motivator through the ups and downs of the process. I truly believe that Harshad was essential in getting me to my dream school as he helped me portray my personality and my experiences in the best, most thoughtful way possible.
I did the Start-to-Finish Package for two schools with Susan, Kellogg, and Ross. While my work experience and community involvement were strong, my GPA was average, and my test scores were on the lower end of the range. I wanted to work with an expert who could help craft my story to overcome any hesitations that an admissions committee would have about my candidacy.
Susan is able to guide you expertly through the process of finding your greatest strengths as a candidate and then piecing together a story about you, your schools, and the fit between the two. She is completely honest and meticulous with you throughout the ideation, essay writing, resume development, and interview process with a keen eye for detail in each component.
Without Susan’s help, my applications would be much worse and I wouldn’t have gotten into my dream school, Kellogg, let alone Ross as well.
Kate was the perfect end-to-end solution for my MBA application journey. Coming from a non-traditional background, I needed assistance in crafting my story in the best light possible. Kate took the time to understand everything about my profile and personal goals. Her experience and guidance were invaluable to my application and ultimately led to me getting into all 5 of the programs I applied to. Her calm demeanor was exactly what I needed in an otherwise hectic application process. I cannot recommend working with Kate more!
I did the 3-session HBS interview prep package with Devi and it was absolutely worth it. From extensively reviewing my application, Devi was able to predict the types of questions I would receive in my interview. Each session resulted in a tighter set of key talking points to hit as well as homework to practice. From this, I felt confident heading into the interview and was fortunate to be accepted!
Out of the 5 schools I worked on with Gavriella, I received interview invites from 4 and will now go and attend HBS! I got multiple offers and scholarships (Applied to 6 M7 schools(Of which I worked on 2 schools myself) and LBS) My guide and mentor – The Guru who made it happen. As traditional Indian saying goes, Guru guides you to your destiny, so bow to the Guru even before you bow before God and she is the mentor who made it happen for me. Unsure of my candidacy for HBS, she instilled confidence in me and pushed me to introspect until I found out why I believed in certain things or choose to behave a certain way. The MBA journey is far longer than the two-year program and while a good GMAT Score feels like a big milestone, it is just the beginning. Your growth begins with applications- as you introspect and find the underlying why you grow and she ensured I knew each why. She highlighted to me how things that seem monotonous or mundane to me, were actually not that common and how I could convey that effectively to the schools to get the interview invites. She made the journey so smooth and easy-paced that I did not feel the anxiety until the HBS Interview invite came and I processed how real this all was. Preparing for the interview, I appreciated my application and felt this sense of immense gratitude towards Gavriella that is hard to put into words. I am so glad I chose MBAMission. Besides the 5 schools I chose to work on with her, she helped me put together my application for two more schools, highlighting how the essays could be along the structure of school A or B.
If I could – I would give her a Net Promoter score of 11 out of 10
I started my MBA application process with little direction and little confidence. I was unsure about where to apply and how to differentiate myself from a competitive pool of applicants. That rapidly changed after meeting Melissa!
I ultimately purchased a two-school comprehensive package with MBAMission after interviewing 6 different services. I had a 30-minute intro call with Melissa and knew immediately that she was the right coach (and worth every single cent of the financial investment!). Melissa is an excellent communicator, incredibly intelligent, and a huge cheerleader for all of her clients.
Melissa helped me pare down my list of schools not only based on academic reputation and rigor but also based on what schools would be the right social fit for me. I loved Melissa’s realistic and targeted approach, especially given limited time and finite resources (between working full-time, GMAT studying, essay writing, and wanting to maintain a general quality of life!). She encouraged me to think about schools based on where I thought I would be happy and encouraged me to engage in a lot of self-reflection so that I could hit the ground running with purpose and direction when I was ready to draft applications. Her knowledge about top business programs is extensive, and her honesty and candor were so appreciated. I especially liked her calm and systematic approach because the application process is stressful – she kept me grounded and at ease throughout! Additionally, there was not a single question that I asked her that she did not have a thoughtful and thorough answer for!
Throughout the application process, Melissa provided invaluable feedback in a respectful and timely manner. My stats (GMAT score and GPA) were on target for top business schools, but I was lacking in the extracurricular / volunteer aspect of applications. She helped me craft essays that highlighted my previous accomplishments in the best possible light (while “camouflaging” weakness), and she put in the extra effort to ensure that I was 100% satisfied with where the essays ended up.
I was ultimately accepted to 3 of the 4 top business schools that I applied to. I am confident that Melissa’s assistance was key to my acceptances!
Harshad is the best consultant you can hire. From day one, he was very attentive to what my goals were and guided me very precisely in my application process.
He really has a great eye for detail and a unique skill to understand your strengths to mold them into good responses for the application questions. It is very clear that he cares for his candidates because he takes a lot of time to understand your story before pointing out the major points to help you put your best foot forward. Harshad is very organized, highly methodical, and structured in his approach. If you work with him and follow his suggestions, you will see positive results — I’m sure of it. His direct feedback approach also challenges you to think critically before putting down any responses.
I highly recommend Harshad to anyone looking for a positive application experience. He offers a free consultative session which I recommend prospective students looking for a consultant at least take an advantage of.
I contacted Jen when I was preparing for an interview for admission to Kellogg’s MMM program. I did a 30 minutes free consultation with her and then a mock interview. Both sessions were very rich and she provided me with practical advice as well study material which came in very handy during my preparation. However, I was not admitted most because admission into the program was very competitive and I did not have the opportunity to work extensively with her. Jen encouraged me to give another shot at applying to business school and proposed practical steps as well a calendar of activities that would help improve my chances. First, she advised me to try the GRE after several attempts at the GMAT. She encouraged me to make one, then a second, and finally a third attempt, progressively increasing my scores. She then guided me through a careful choice of programs, five of which I applied to. Thanks to the diligent approach she adopted in guiding me through brainstorming, updating my resume, writing my essays, working with my recommenders, and filling my applications, I was called up for interview by three of the schools I applied to (a feat I failed to accomplish for all of the programs I previously applied to except Kellogg, which had as policy interviewing all candidates) and subsequently placed on the waiting list of one of the programs (Georgetown McDonough) and was granted admission to McCombs UT Austin (One of the two other schools, one of which I applied to through the early action option). I can state unequivocally that Jen helped me significantly improve my applications and get an admission into McCombs. I will gladly and confidently recommend her services for anyone seeking advice and coaching for admission into any MBA program.
Gavriella was great! The MBA application process is long and difficult, so having someone as experienced and supportive as she is was crucial to my success. Professional, intelligent, and articulate, she consistently demonstrated genuine care for my application. Gavriella is particularly talented at helping applicants with their essays: her insight enabled me to tell my story in a way that highlighted my personality and professional goals in a manner that was both coherent and engaging.
Extremely responsive and willing to go the extra mile for her clients, she exceeded all expectations and has my highest recommendation for any prospective MBA student.
Melissa exceeded all my expectations of what an MBA admissions consultant is supposed to be. If you’re looking for a sign to connect with her, this is your sign. After doing interviews with 4 or 5 different consultants, I knew Melissa was different right from our first contact.
Melissa truly took the time to get to know me deeply as a person, which is invaluable and critical to the essay writing and interview prep process. Her experience as an adcom member was also evident in the quality of edits and direction. Because she knew me so well, I was able to finely tailor a narrative about my life and career plan for every school.
Melissa also understood the emotional rollercoaster that happens during this process and was a great listener, advocate, and advice giver for any and all less tangible MBA questions.
I got 4 full scholarships, including two M7s, which I have no doubt wouldn’t have been possible without Melissa.
I don’t have enough words to thank her, and I highly recommend anyone looking for an admissions consultant to connect with Melissa. She is a true professional that cares deeply about her clients, and I think that those traits are reflected in the results of working with her.
Hire Melissa. It’ll be the best decision you make. As another reviewer mentioned, Melissa is in a class of her own. I’m going to Kellogg because of her!!!
After reading reviews of 40+ consultants and interviewing 9 different consultants, I did not hesitate to hire Melissa. She combines her direct work experience of leading an MBA admissions committee at Rice (Jones) with her lived experience as a Kellogg alum. Additionally, after going through the whole process, I can tell you that her approach is incredibly distinct, not just something off the MBAMission shelf. It was clear from the start that Melissa saw me as a person with a distinct and important story, not just another client.
Most consultants told me to apply to 6-8 schools because my GMAT was below average, and I was an older applicant. Melissa worked with me to avoid the “spray and pray” approach, but instead, helped me select schools that aligned most closely with my personal narrative/preferences. We ended up selecting four top-10.
From there, the writing process flowed very naturally. Her feedback was always on time and to the point. She successfully identified when I was drifting from my story or adding “fluff” that makes adcoms fall asleep. Being able to write essays alongside Melissa was a complete gift. Without going into too much detail, Melissa helped me discover parts of myself that will impact my life far beyond the application process. And for that, I am beyond grateful.
To wrap up, I ended up getting into my dream program (Kellogg’s MMM program) and will be headed up to Evanston this year!
Heidi was a crucial part of my application process. I worked with her for CBS and was able to convert it. Being from an overrepresented demographic with an average GMAT score, I was skeptical of even getting an interview at CBS so I feel Heidi’s support really made all the difference. She helped identify the most unique aspects of my story and provided brilliant suggestions on all parts of the application material. Her depth of experience was evident in the quality of school-specific inputs she shared, which helped me tailor my resume & essays well. Her feedback on my material was clear, concise, well-reasoned, and always on schedule (even a day before the deadline in one instance!) She also helped me with a mock interview, where again the depth and breadth of feedback provided were unparalleled. Not only was she able to fine-tune the content of my answers but also helped improve the body language and overall presentation.
Would absolutely recommend Heidi to anyone looking for expert help with their B-school applications!
I was connected to Katy through a co-worker who was a former client and who recommended her strongly (she had helped him get into HBS the year prior). I interviewed 3 other consultants besides Katy, but I felt that Katy and I had the strongest connection out of all of them. I am very happy that I chose Katy; not only did she help me drive a successful outcome (admitted to GSB in Round 1), but she made the overall process fairly stress-free through excellent planning and time efficiency.
While I had strong scores and a strong resume, I was concerned that the more qualitative aspects of my application (the essays, short answers, etc.) would be weak. Katy’s advice and coaching on my essays were incredibly helpful. While I had a number of events/stories I wanted to tell from throughout my life, Katy was able to pull all these together under a common thread that created a great narrative, and that I never would have been able to think of myself. From there, the essay was actually fairly easy to write, and her wording edits made it even more concise & powerful.
In addition, many of my ideas that were not used for the essay translated nicely into either (a) short answer responses, or (b) interview topics. On the latter, Katy was again helpful, as her multi-hour pre-interview preparation session was the main thing that prevented me from bombing it.
I would highly recommend Katy’s services to anyone applying to business school.
I worked with Gavriella and had a great experience. I had solid stats but, in my opinion, pretty average work experience and extracurriculars. With Gavriella’s help, I was able to get into multiple M7’s. She was very prompt in communication and offered tons of extra advice via emails.
She was especially helpful with the essays. She really helped me nail down the story I wanted to tell about myself and what points to touch on in each of the essays. I don’t think I would’ve had the same success without her!
Since the beginning of college, I had my eyes set on eventually applying to HBS, my dream business school. So when it came time for me to choose an MBA consultant to work with, it was a huge decision for me. After months of evaluating various consultants, I ultimately reached out to Devi for the Complete Start-to-Finish Package based on all of her raving reviews. Now, after having worked directly with Devi over the course of several months, I can assure you that she deserves ALL the praise that you see online.
Among many other reasons, I came from a highly traditional background and found it difficult to craft a story based on my distinct life experiences. After one single brainstorming session, Devi worked with me and guided me to craft an application with a clear theme and thesis. Simply put, I would not be going to HBS without Devi’s guidance.
As all the other reviews suggest, Devi is everything that you need in a consultant. Above all, she is honest, straightforward, and efficient. So, if you really are serious about going to your dream business school, Devi will be worth the investment as she will give you the best possible guidance. Applying to business school was a huge milestone in my life, and I am beyond grateful that I chose to work with her. THANK YOU AGAIN DEVI!!!
I cannot recommend Jessica enough. Quick background about myself- Indian male, re-applicant, GMAT 730, family business, and aiming for M7s. As soon as I spoke to Jessica, I loved her energy. In the very first call, she gave me an outline of what my profile has, and lacks, and how it can be improved. From then on, it was one of the best journeys that I have undertaken. She is very informative, and understanding and is a master at articulation.
Starting from the beginning, she has standardized processes for each and every school and knows at her fingertips what exactly the school wants. She’s just so good at it that you might feel that you’ve never seen someone being so professionally good at whatever work they do. Even last-minute details are often easy to miss. The way she helps you craft the story is amazing.
There’s never a no from her end regarding how many edits you do. She even suggests changes after your write-up is finalized if she feels that there can be more value addition.
Once done with the submissions, she regularly shares updates without asking. The best part of working with her was that we had so much communication other than the work where she takes care of your much-expected anxiety and general well-being. She wants to be the first to hear your results- she’s as excited as you are for them.
Well, thanks to her I got into an M7 and though her professional obligations end there, she still is in touch with me telling me all about the best places to eat and go to in my city.
Just cannot thank her enough! If you’re dwelling on your options, stop thinking, just go ahead with her and thank me later 🙂
I was trying to get into my top choice B-school for a year. I was determined to get into it, but I felt that I needed someone who can stand as a strong support throughout to make the whole process less overwhelming. I had my priorities sorted in terms of the kind of consultant I wanted to work with. I talked to many consultants but I decided to work with Jen as I was looking for someone who is experienced (Jen has 20 years of experience), and who is a great mentor – with whom I can have wholesome conversations. I am a person who wants to think through all the scenarios and ponder different possibilities. But I felt limited to doing all this by myself. So, I was looking for a person who had lived through such scenarios and who knows what can work potentially at the end. At the same time, I wanted someone who can give my application a human touch, who can feel me, my life, and my stories and then show me the right path and the best ways to tell those stories. I didn’t want robotic suggestions, I wanted logical and emotional suggestions. When I talked to Jen for the first time, I could feel her positive aura, her friendly energy, and her eye for detail along with her empathetic and genuine heart. I knew she is someone with whom I want to work with. I really felt grateful when in my essay drafts, Jen used to add stories/words from my brainstorming document, that I thought couldn’t add much value. Jen is very proactive in following up if she sees any lag. She also understands each person’s strengths and weaknesses, which keeps her work style dynamic. I had a tough time preparing for video essays as I was not able to show my real energy and enthusiasm for the school. Because the answers looked more rehearsed. After a few mocks, Jen realized that my style is not remembering everything. I perform better and look more natural when I am writing only 2-3 words (and not the whole sentences) and speaking extempore. This advice did wonders. I myself couldn’t believe the way I was talking on video completely got transformed with her guidance. I will be grateful to Jen for this realization. Once when I was not well and was just on the verge of submitting an application, Jen went out of her promised 2-working-day time and responded to my short answers within a day, just to make sure I submit my application in time. (though I don’t advise leaving anything for the last day, it gets overwhelming for the consultant also). Still, another instance, was when I was not feeling confident a few days before Darden deadline because of not-so competitive GMAT score. I remember sharing a long email with Jen explaining my concerns and why I should not submit to Darden in R1 and wait for R2. I remember that weekend and Jen replied to me on the same day answering my every concern and pushing me to go for R1 and gave me many more reasons to believe in myself and trust the efforts that I put into writing my story. I gained an admit to Darden as a Forte Fellow with a 40K scholarship and I can say, I owe Darden to her. I can assure if you choose Jen, she will leave no stone unturned to make you a successful story.
Katy is a fantastic consultant! I started working with Katy in the spring of 2022 to prepare for Round 1 applications. In the process of selecting Katy, I interviewed nearly a dozen consultants from different firms. Katy brought a level of confidence and honesty that stood out compared to the others. Additionally, I felt that Katy truly believed in me, and didn’t try to scare me into her services. Ultimately, I chose to work with her on two schools (HBS & Sloan) with the Complete Start to Finish package. Once we started working together, she was very thorough and probed on many different angles of my background to understand where I stood out. She made herself available for the seemingly endless revisions of my different essays. After I was invited to interview, Katy made sure I was confident and prepared to go into both interviews. I was especially nervous about the HBS interview, but she knew exactly how to prepare me so I was truly ready and could bring my best self to the interview. And, I’m happy to say I was ultimately accepted into both schools!
If you do choose to work with Katy, the several weeks leading up to application deadlines get very hectic, so make sure you agree on timelines well in advance. Because she has so many clients applying to HBS and GSB, the typical turnaround timeline can get extended leading up to these deadlines. I was finalizing my Sloan materials around the GSB deadline and some turnarounds were extended so the GSB applications could all go in on time, while there was an extra week or two before the Sloan deadline. Katy made sure everything was ready by the deadline, but that last-minute crunch was stressful! Save yourself the last-minute stress and get your materials ready to go a few weeks early! Ultimately, though, this is a plus- because she has worked with so many people applying to GSB and HBS, she knows what works and doesn’t work for those schools. Overall, wonderful experience and well worth the cost. I would recommend Katy’s services in a heartbeat.
I got in touch with Katy through another coworker who was a former client. We began our initial discussion in December 2020 through the free consultation. What impressed me about Katy is that she was quickly able to give feedback on what I needed to improve about my profile to attend a top business school. For the next two years, I would reach out to Katy to get feedback on my career and whether my professional decisions would benefit my MBA applications even before committing to her services. After getting an ideal GRE score, I knew I wanted to work with Katy, and we began working together in Spring of 2022. Katy was really able to piece different parts of my story together and find an underlying theme. This is especially critical for those applying to Harvard or Stanford. When I started to receive interviews, Katy would really push me during our mock interviews and ask to follow up questions to many of my answers. Most importantly, throughout this journey, Katy was a mentor and a friend. During the application process, a friend of mine suddenly passed away, and Katy was able to empathize with me by drawing on her personal life. I was lucky enough to be admitted to the MMM program at Kellogg. For those keen on attending HSW, take Katy’s feedback seriously so you can put your best foot forward.
The interview coaching I received from Devi was simply spectacular! She identifies exactly where your gaps are and creates an action plan that is customized to your needs. Devi challenges you to dig deeper and try different ways of answering a question. These exercises tremendously build your comfort, agility, and overall confidence with the interview process. Her wealth of insights and experience is unmatched, and she truly supports you every step of the way. Words cannot begin to express how grateful I am to Devi – she is outstanding!
I genuinely could not be more satisfied with my working relationship with Jessica. She is a rockstar!
From the very beginning during our introductory call, Jessica immediately stood out against the 9 other consultants I spoke with. She read all of the materials I sent in advance of the introductory call and wow-ed me with her insight and clarity into my story and application strengths/weaknesses (even though we had only just met).
Once I signed up as a 2-school package client, Jessica met all of the table stakes expectations you’d have of an admissions consultant (responsive, professional/polite, attentive, never missing deadlines/turnaround times, strong editing skills), but then also far exceeded my expectations in the most important way — the essays and crafting your overall application narrative. I had 2-4 of the “most interesting” parts of my candidacy; however, they were VERY disparate such that I assumed I could highlight one or at most two aspects of myself in my essays. Jessica effortlessly wove everything together in one cohesive story and set us on a path to success. I was extremely impressed and knew I was in good hands!
A few final unexpected value-adds of working with Jessica… When appropriate/necessary, she would sanity-check our work with her colleagues which made me feel prioritized as a client and all the more sure of where my applications were headed. This was for some big stuff (HBS essay content) as well as some smaller, sillier stuff (what tie I wore to my interview). I valued how seriously she took my candidacy and went the extra mile to make sure I put my absolute best foot forward. Lastly, she provided emotional support during an exciting but also stressful time! I appreciated her kind words and encouragement throughout the process.
Fast forward to today, I was accepted into both of the schools I applied to, and firmly believe I would not be here without her help. I cannot recommend her and mbaMission enough.
Working with Gavriella was an amazing process. She was always extremely prompt in responding to me and encouraging as I worked through my application. Her help allowed me to adequately prepare a couple of compelling essays, perfect my resume, and feel comfortable in my interview.
Her ability to get to know you and then personalize your message is unparalleled, and I can’t imagine how I would have navigated this process without her. Oh yeah, and the most important part: I got admitted into my first-choice program.
I majored in accounting 9 years ago and was a good student through undergraduate studies, however, I had spent the last 7 years as a fishing guide and skiing patroller. Due to my work history, I had a unique background that Gavriella helped me showcase effectively.
I can’t thank her enough, and I encourage anyone and everyone to reach out to her for help with their MBA applications!
Heidi helped me to clarify and strengthen my personal story and career goals in order to stand out, especially coming from an overrepresented Big 4 consulting background. She was very efficient and was able to support brainstorming, resume, essays, short answers, and interview prep in a smaller package of hourly services. The biggest benefit of using mbaMission and Heidi was the time, and stress, I saved. I had access to the best materials and always had proper direction along the way. I’m extremely happy with my results, getting into one of my top M7 choices.
Jen was an incredible consultant and helped to make the entire process so much smoother. From the start, she helped make a clear plan of how we would tackle the application process with a week-by-week guide. Since I was coming from an engineering background, her expertise was essential in helping me brainstorm and edit essays. Before each of my interviews, she helped me practice which was so important to not only reviewing likely questions, but also getting out the nervous jitters. Throughout the process, she was warm, kind, and always responsive. With her help, I was accepted to not only my target school (CBS) but also my dream school (HBS)! Jen really made all the difference and I am so grateful for all of her help and guidance.
I purchased the 5-hour package for consulting on my Wharton EMBA application. I thought that I already had a good sense of what my application/story should look like. However, I strongly believe that I would NOT have been accepted to Wharton had it not been for Heidi’s feedback and coaching. Heidi reviewed my application, resume, and two essays. We also did a mock interview once I got to that stage of the process.
Heidi’s feedback was instrumental in “tightening up” each portion of my application. She is most efficient with her time and ultra-responsive. In terms of her review style, Heidi provided both general feedback and detailed comments/suggestions on how I could improve sections of my resume/essays. She always provides insights on what she likes in addition to suggested improvements. For improvement areas, she offers probing questions or suggestions for how to make the section stronger. This style really helped me understand where she was coming from and what the admissions committee was looking for. It also created fewer iterations in getting to my final product. Heidi is also very encouraging and such a nice person to work with! She was so invested in helping me succeed; I would not be where I am without her.
The EMBA process, like the full-time MBA, is quite daunting. I would 100% work with Heidi again and recommend her services to anyone looking to gain acceptance to their dream program. It worked for me!
I am a Latin American reapplicant with a background in Law, and last year I was admitted to other schools, but not Harvard, my dream school. A friend who had worked with Katy in the previous year recommended that I went through a ding review with her. What stood out for me is that Katy does not give one-size-fits-all, generic advice. She was very specific and candid in her advice, pinpointing everything she thought was wrong in how I was telling my story, why it was wrong and how to improve it. I decided to work together with her. Her unparalleled understanding of the admissions process makes her suggestions extremely insightful. She took a very structured approach to the application process, which makes it easier to prioritize work and not lose yourself on the immense amount of work that is an MBA application, yet she was always able to accommodate me when needed (she did an extra mock interview with me on the morning of my HBS interview when I told her I wasn’t feeling 100% comfortable!). Moreover, she was so thorough when going over my application materials that it was almost like she knew my story even better than me, helping me put together a very strong narrative behind it. As a reapplicant, I can definitely say that she made a huge difference in my application. I would highly recommend working with her
I worked with Katharine for my round one applications and got an admit from HBS and a waitlist from Stanford GSB.
I got in touch with her through the consultation call and had an insightful conversation with her on the areas I was worried about in the applications. Katharine not only explained how she could help me but also gave some thoughtful advice. I instantly realized that she would be the perfect mentor and guide in my application process.
Harvard and Stanford’s essays require significant introspection, and Katharine’s brainstorming discussion helped me identify and connect multiple personal stories and experiences that formed the basis of my essays. One of the best aspects of working with Katharine was that her processes and advice helped me identify strengths in my profile that I was initially oblivious to. As we moved into the application process, Katharine helped me double down on these strengths which enabled me to significantly improve my applications.
Katharine not only works as your mentor in the process but also as your biggest supporter. Her absolutely infectious positivity will help you get through the tough days in the application period. Personally, every call I had with her ended with me becoming more confident and positive about my efforts.
Katharine was absolutely honest, firm, and transparent in her feedback and advice. At multiple points in the process, she gave me clear and firm advice on areas that need more work – her relentless pursuit of driving improvements helped me boost each and every aspect of my applications.
Katharine is THE BEST consultant you can work with for your top business school applications. She is an expert at literally every aspect of the entire process – from the applications to final admit and waitlist strategy.
I started the MBA consulting session with Jessica and till then she had already reviewed my resume and the story I provided. I started by asking a query and she gave me a very satisfactory response. She continued by looking at my resume which was too generalized and she helped by showing how I could present the resume in a meaningful way. She asked me a few questions and found out some great points in my life that even I hadn’t thought of and that could make a positive impact in my application. She was too direct in her approach which made the session count. The 20 min session was the best I could hope and certainly exceeded my expectations.
I had a wonderful experience and outcome with Debbie. She is professional and does care about the applicant—moreover, significant outcome improvement vs. the previous year’s application process. One year ago, I also hired a consultant from a major firm but was not accepted into any of the three programs I applied to. One year later, with the same job and GMAT score, Debbie helped me to get accepted into one of the programs, and I was even offered a fellowship. Additionally, I got a deferral from a second program. Overall, working with Debbie has been a pleasant and rewarding experience. Strongly recommend her!!
Devi is a seasoned admissions professional who helped me successfully get into my top choice school (GSB/HBS). She has an extremely direct style which helps you efficiently see areas of improvement in your application.
I was referred to Gavriella by a friend that had recently been accepted to Cornell’s full-time MBA program. I began my journey by scheduling a consultation, during which I laid out my goal of attending Columbia Business School. She began by telling me that given some of my stats, it truly was a long shot. Gavriella will not sugarcoat your situation, but hearing her honest assessment was exactly what I needed and exactly what you will need throughout the process.
The application process can be quite grueling – Gavriella helped me through every step, from crafting my essays to perfecting and anticipating every possible interview question. Her suggestions and preparation tips were perfectly catered to my background and to my target program. If you are anything like me and you tend to be a bit self-critical, Gavriella will not only help you crush your applications, but she will also remind you that you DO have a story to tell. If you feel like you don’t, it’s because you haven’t learned how to tell it.
People going through the process of applying to school, be it undergrad or graduate, often ask me if hiring a consultant is worth it, and that’s a tricky one. I would imagine that not all admission consultants are equal in terms of the value they provide, but working with Gavriella was worth every penny and then some. She is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, bright and a terrific editor.
If I can get into Columbia Business School with Gavriella’s help, then if you’re committed to the process and receptive to her coaching, the sky is the limit for you.
Debbie is a very experienced and supportive consultant. She took the time to truly get to know me and my stories instead of following templates. She has a very in-depth understanding of the MBA application process and different schools’ unique styles. Every meeting with her was very efficient and insightful, and she was also very timely with email responses. At the same time, preparing for application can be extremely intense and stressful; Debbie’s high energy and care also made things much easier. She also went out of her way to extend support whenever needed. I would highly recommend Debbie as a consultant!
I did not hire Devi as my main consultant, but I did do her free consultation. I am still recommending her because of the quality of that consultation and because I heavily relied on the resources she has online for preparing for the HBS interview. As an ORM software engineer with a solid background, there are two extremes for consultants. On one end, there’s the consultant that will tell you that you’ll get in everywhere as long as you sign with them. The other will try to make you aim lower so they can have an easy win. Devi was neither. She was realistically encouraging and gave me actionable feedback on things I could work on before the admissions process. Her free HBS interview prep material is essential viewing for anyone invited to interview by HBS, and I’m confident that working with her on the interview 1:1 would be valuable for those that need a bit of coaching. She’s been an HBS interviewer, so she knows what they evaluate. I attribute a large part of my successful HBS interview to her prep materials.
I am extremely grateful to have had Debbie as a coach throughout the application process. I worked with Debbie for multiple months from strategizing when to apply to my top choice programs, to prepping for the GMAT and writing my application, and also working through the interview process. Debbie was a very thoughtful, strategic, and encouraging consultant who gave me a lot of confidence that I was positioning myself as best as I could to the schools I was applying to. I particularly appreciated the time Debbie took to help me brainstorm and write my essays, and coach me through the interview process. I was accepted to my top choice program, and I do not think I could have gotten there without Debbie.
I was solely focused on applying to European schools and originally went with Jen as she had attended Cambridge herself. However, throughout the 3-4 months that I spent working with Jen, she was an absolutely invaluable resource in helping me gain admission. I only applied to LBS and IESE for Round 1 and got admitted to both. I knew LBS would be a reach for me, but Jen really took the time to get to know me, my story, and my motivations for wanting to attend, and was a constant cheerleader throughout the process. Having only lived in one US state, moving abroad for business school was a huge life decision and having Jen in my corner made that decision that much easier.
Working with her made me much more confident in my unique story and confirmed my motivations for applying, and I was in turn able to convey this confidence throughout my essays, interviews, and chats with students/alumni. Jen also has a background in test prep and was able to provide some helpful tips as I studied for the GRE. Jen was also a great resource for my recommenders as she provided resources to help them write a strong recommendation and read through drafts to make sure that piece of my application was strong.
Lastly, at the beginning of our relationship, I was given a 15-20 page document to fill out. This is time-consuming but I highly recommend taking the time to fill this out to the best of your ability; I constantly found myself looking back on this as I moved through the application process and prepared for interviews. It also gives Jen a good base to know your background and what pieces of your story she can highlight.
An MBA consultant is a pricey investment but for me, it was absolutely worth it. I honestly don’t know whether or not I would have gotten in without her, but I know I personally wanted someone to guide me through the application process and I wanted to give myself the best possible shot at these schools. If I had to go back I would absolutely choose to work with Jen again.
I worked with Debbie for R1 2023 entry and had the best experience I could’ve ever asked for.
While I did have an idea of the storyline I wanted to tell, Debbie with her years of expertise found common traits from my experiences and artfully suggested themes. Many of my essays were on version 15+ and she was able to provide thoughtful feedback no matter what stage the essays were at or pulled me back when she noticed that the previous way of phrasing is more authentic. She was also a huge emotional support when I had self-doubt and cheered me on giving me confidence that what I submitted was genuine and truly told my story. The interview mocks were also extremely helpful as she right away pointed out areas I can be more articulate which allowed me to focus during subsequent practices.
With Debbie’s help, I secured interviews with 3 out of the 5 schools I applied to (all M7) and am happy to share that I received an offer to join HBS, my dream school! I could not have gotten to where I am without her help and highly recommend her to anyone seeking support!
I purchased the mbaMission 5 MBA program package, applying to Darden, Haas, Kellogg, Tuck, and Wharton Round 1. I chose mbaMission and my consultant, Debbie Choy, through word of mouth (one of my closest college friends had used her successfully the year prior).
I most appreciated Debbie’s flexibility and timeliness; whenever I submitted materials for her review, I would always receive feedback within 48 hours (often within 24 hours).
Fortunately, there was no MBA application for Round 2, given I was admitted to several schools, including my top choice program. I would recommend using both mbaMission and Debbie to anyone going through the MBA application process!
Kim was an absolutely amazing resource on my application journey. Applying to schools was incredibly stressful but when I met Kim she quickly extinguished all stresses and helped me take a disciplined approach to my applications while creating a compelling story for myself. I took a non-traditional approach and only applied to JD/MBA dual degree programs and Kim was really helpful in understanding the less common process and navigating multi-part applications. I truly can say Kim was a pleasure to work with and I could not recommend her enough.
I first heard about mbaMission through Manhattan. Their book on MBA admissions surpassed my expectations. After researching their consultants, I found Debbie seemed like an experienced, direct, kind, and serious professional. I was right, Debbie was great! She always delivered timely, concise, and direct feedback. Debbie was with me every step of the application process and helped me get into Stanford and MIT.
As a Stanford alumna and consultant professional, she provides key perspectives and critical information that I couldn’t have found otherwise. I was impressed with how well she understood me throughout this brainstorming session; this was key to the story I shared in my essay.
I was confident Harshad would be the best consultant from the very first conversation I had with him. I started R1 applications fairly late and Harshad was BEYOND helpful through the entire process. With a no-name undergrad and an okay-ish GRE, I was very tentative about how I would do it, but Harshad was fantastic in the way he helped me craft my MBA story and bring out my merits through my work experience. He has a fantastic knowledge of what the adcom at each school is looking for and is very structured in how he approaches essays. But even more so, his feedback is incredibly incisive and helps you highlight your strengths while giving great mitigations for weaknesses. Mock interviewing with him prepares you for any and all kinds of questions – which helps guide you to connect with the interviewer as well. Even beyond the “work” aspect, he’s an amazing, honest, and super fun person to work with. Working with him 100% turned my applications around – I applied to 3 M7 schools in round 1, interviewed in 3/3, and have already gotten an admit in one (Booth)!
I’m so glad I worked with Debbie throughout my round 1 application process. I chose to do hourly services with her so that I could get her input on different parts of the application for the 5 schools I was applying to. Debbie was fantastic. She was very strategic during each brainstorming session. She let me know the parts of my background that would really stand out and should be highlighted in the application and the best way to do so. She was also very honest with me, and I felt reassured that I wasn’t just getting buzzwords from her.
I also enjoyed working with Debbie because I found her to be extremely efficient, concise, and straightforward with her feedback. Every minute with her was well spent, and I felt that I was able to drastically improve my essay with each round of edits from her. Not only that, she was very prompt in her responses to other parts of the application for each school. She made the entire application process very smooth and easy for me.
With Debbie’s help, I secured interviews with 3 of the 5 schools I applied to. I received an offer from Booth with a significant scholarship and am waiting for decisions from another top 3 and top 10 school. Debbie is amazing and I would highly recommend her to anyone.
Working with Debbie has been an incredible experience so far. I worked with Debbie on 4 highly competitive M7 schools for Round 1 – with her guidance and counsel, I received interview invitations with 3 of these schools and have already been accepted to 1 so far (M7/Ivy League).
Debbie has been thoughtful, strategic, and honest with me. She has supported me through the ups and downs of this difficult process and has truly been the wind beneath my wings. As an international South Asian male working in finance (with test scores below average!), I belong to several overrepresented categories all at once. Through working with Debbie, I was able to discover how I could best position my background and experiences in a competitive way.
There is no way I would already have a top MBA acceptance for next fall without her help. If you have the opportunity to work with Debbie, go for it – it is 100% worth it.
I worked with Jen on my MBA application for INSEAD and Cambridge and she was absolutely fantastic. Starting with our joint brainstorming for the essays, where she helped me tremendously in selecting the episodes from my life that could have relevance to the applications, and then sorting them out on the essay topics so that they would paint a comprehensive picture of my strengths. Followed by writing the essays together, where we sent numerous drafts back and forth between us and Jen had a great sense of the strengths and weaknesses of individual drafts and also never shied away from communicating her honest opinion about what I had written, even if it needed us to redraft entire essays. Finally, the joint preparation for the interviews was also extremely helpful. Jen is also extremely knowledgeable about the intricacies of MBA applications and what admissions committees want to see in applications and was always readily available when I had any questions. But above all, Jen is extremely friendly and empathetic, and an absolute pleasure to work with, which is extremely important given the workload of one or more MBA applications. For me, hiring Jen was so worth it, because not only did I get acceptances for both of my applications, but I also received a scholarship from one of the schools, which means that my investment has already paid off.
As I was preparing for the application process, I was uncertain whether I would work with a consultant or not, but (thankfully) one of my colleagues, who had worked with Nisha in the past, referred me to her. From the start, I appreciated Nisha’s candidness and ability to help me craft my story. Nisha’s help was invaluable throughout the application process, and I highly recommend working with her!
Looking back, I’m so glad that I chose Debbie to help me with my MBA journey. During my search for a consultant, I often felt that I was not good enough for my dream school as well as my other top targets; however, Debbie had a more optimistic approach. Having been denied at my target schools once in the past, I was worried, but she was able to look at the positives and always brought it back to my strengths. Through this process of re-applying, I can confidently say that Debbie truly cares.
She is detail-oriented, on time, friendly, and constructive. She is extremely accessible and easy to work with. Even though I always had a lot of questions, she was patient enough to answer them. Through her support, I was able to craft my re-applicant story and received admission to my dream school. She was so thrilled when I got in, and I could tell how much she was invested in my success.
She would even jump on Zoom calls with me to conduct mock interviews. She is extremely honest in her assessment, and that made me fine tune my approach to becoming a better interviewee. For those of you considering an MBA consultant, I would easily go with Debbie. I would highly recommend her services to anyone that asks me.
Truly, I owe a debt of gratitude to Debbie!
Jen was extremely helpful, thoughtful, and supportive throughout my MBA application process. During our first brainstorming session, she helped me reflect on my personal and professional experiences to identify personality traits, accomplishments, goals, and stories that I highlighted in my essays – this experience allowed me to learn more about myself by elucidating my motivations for going to business school and how I could best contribute to an MBA program’s community. Jen also provided structured feedback on my resume to make my bullets easier to understand across audiences and to quantify the impact I had through my work projects. In addition, Jen’s comments on my essays were constructive, easy to follow, and shared in a timely manner with me – I especially appreciated Jen’s probing questions and suggestions for how I should consider expanding upon sections of writing to emphasize the “so what” and implications in the context of my MBA goals. Jen consistently provided clear expectations of when she wanted to review drafts of my essays and when she would be available to send back edits, helping me stay on track and finish my applications without any rush before the deadline. After I received interview invites, Jen coached me through several rounds of mock interviews, and she gave me useful tips for presenting myself (both professionally and as my genuine self) and responding to typical and curveball interview questions. Finally, I am so grateful for Jen’s tremendous support during the entire application process – as my cheerleader, she motivated me to give my application my best shot and to maintain high morale. I applied to Wharton HCM, Booth, Kellogg, and CBS, and I was admitted to all four schools – I also received several scholarships! A big THANK YOU to Jen for being an incredible partner in this experience. I highly recommend her to anyone who is applying to business school!
My consultant was Jessica Shklar. Jessica took the time to get to know me and helped me focus on my career objectives. I was terrified to apply to MBA programs because my undergraduate GPA was terrible. However, I had a graduate-level certificate and a Master’s degree, both with 4.0 GPAs. Jessica gave me actionable steps to take and provided feedback on my resume. She helped me get comfortable with talking about educational and career goals which came in great use when interviewing! I highly recommend her and mbaMission. I am from a small town so finding a support network was difficult. Jessica was able to provide the support and encouragement I needed.
